Changing Australian Communities

1.     A Primary Source is a source made or created at the time of the situation being studied and a Secondary Source is one which was created after the period of time being studied. A Primary Source is easier and is better to use as it contains more information from the time due to people’s thoughts and queries of the situation. We use these types of sources when we need to find thoughts and incidents  as evidence to support a historic event.
2.    A Primary Source for finding the population of Australia could be government websites with graphs and reports. These are Primary Sources as they were created today.
3.    The population of Australia is 22,638,341 people.
4.    The ‘growth rate’ for Australia in 2010 was 1.6%
5.    There were 345,500 new Australians in 2010.
6.    Of the new Australians; 42 570 were born in Australia and 108 100 were immigrants.
7.    The state which had the highest growth in population in 2010 was Queensland.
8.    The fact that there are more cars and people in the streets could be related to population growth.
9.    It is good and bad that Australia’s population is growing.
10. After the 1st and 2nd World War’s, the population of Australia had been destroyed. Population growth was needed to function the country through labour, money and the alround help of the people. Most of these immigrants came from the Pacific.
